Summary of the majlis. By Hadhrat Maulana Adam Sahib Hafizahullah قصيدة حب الرسول 21st October 2018 There is a Qasida (poem) written by Allamah Shah Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله. Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله was a very great jurist and muhaddith. He taught in Darul Uloom Deoband for a long time and is a teacher many of the elders we hear of today. He is well-known in India, Pakistan and the in many Arab countries. In a many countries, if people were to hear that a certain person has a sanad from Allamah Shah Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله , people would flock towards that person to learn. Allamah Shah Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله had a photographic memory; if he would read anything, he would automatically know it by heart. In some libraries in the Hijaz area, there were such books that would not be available anywhere else and were not reprinted so that the value of it would remain. So people would travel from far distances to read the books. These books were heavily guarded. When Allamah Shah Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله found out about this, he went to the library and read the books and then wrote them out word per word. The owners were amazed at this. He had two sons: Azhar Shah and Anzar Shah. Hadhrat Maulana Adam Sahib Hafizahullah has met both of his sons and Syed Anzar Shah has visited Jame Masjid before. Syed Azhar Shah was manager of the magazine of Darul Uloom Deoband and had an office in the Darul Uloom. When Hadhrat Maulana Adam Sahib Hafizahullah would go for his lessons, he would pass by his office so would see him everyday. Everyone would ask Allamah Shah Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله questions and he would answer straight away, citing the source along with page numbers and even the whereabouts of the Hadith on the page! No matter how great these pious people of the past are we have to remember that the status of the sahaba is much higher. Once Sayyiduna Umar bin Abdul Aziz رَحِمَهُ الله was asked, who has a higher status. So-and-so sahabi or so-and-so Tabiee. Sayyiduna Umar bin Abdul Aziz رَحِمَهُ الله replied that the tabiee’s status can’t even reach the status of the snot from the nose of the horse of this sahabi. Meaning that there is no comparison, and the sahabis status is much higher. The highest status is of the prophet ﷺ. And we say this even when we recite durood, for example: وَصَلَى اللهُ تَعالىٰ عَلٰى خَيْرِ خَلْقِهِ May Allah Ta’ala send salutations upon the best of His creations. In the word ‘creations’ everything is included: the angles, the jinnat and humans. And then after the prophet ﷺ, the highest status is of the Ambiya as. No sahabi can reach this status. Then after this is the sahaba have the highest status. We keep hearing that a person who has seen the prophet ﷺ in a dream has a very high status. Imagine the sahaba, they saw him ﷺ in real life and even that was many times in a day. One sahabi returned home from the masjid but didn’t feel at peace so he returned to the masjid. Then we went home again but felt distressed and so, he returned to the masjid. After a while of him returning back and forth, the prophet ﷺ asked him what the matter was. He replied saying that today I’m thinking that right now I am able to see you as much as I want. But in Jannah you will have a higher status so I won’t be able to see you as much. Then the ayah was revealed explaining that those people that are true lovers and followers of the prophet ﷺ will have a chance to go that place for khidmah (service) to the prophet ﷺ. Upon hearing this, the sahabi was content. So this was the status of the sahaba and there is no question of their love. No one can have a higher status than a sahabi. Not even Imam bukhari رَحِمَهُ الله , not Imam Muslim رَحِمَهُ الله. The student of Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله was the teacher of Hadhrat Maulana Adam Sahib Hafizahullah. Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله passed away in Deoband and his grave is there too. His khadim’s (a person who served him) grave is next to his. He would serve Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله so much that he would run towards doing everything for him. And before the khadim passed away, his features and actions were just like Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله’s. Once Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله was waiting at the train station for a train and a non-muslim passing by said “this can’t be the face of a liar” and accepted Islam. If this was the case of an Ummati of the prophet ﷺ, imagine how our Nabi ﷺ. May Allah ﷻ give us all a connection with the prophet ﷺ. Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله passed away during the night time. Only the family knew straight away but people came from all places as though they had known first. This new had to be known to them from Allah ﷻ only. We should appreciate all these people. There are some books written by the great pious, which we cannot even understand (due to their high calibre). Hadhrat Thanwi رَحِمَهُ الله says himself that there are some books written by Hadhrat Qasim Nanotwi رَحِمَهُ الله that even he doesn’t understand due to the status of the writer. He says he just follows the Amal (actions) of Hadhrat Qasim Nanotwi رَحِمَهُ الله. By reciting this Qasida (poem) written by Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله continuously, some say that the prophet ﷺ will appear in their dream. Although we should wish to see the prophet ﷺ in our dream, we need to think that we are not worthy of this. Even though we should have the hope in our heart, we shouldn’t think we are definitely worthy of this. Someone once came to Haji Imdadullah رَحِمَهُ الله and asked him to make dua that he is able to see the prophet ﷺ in his dream. Haji Imdadullah رَحِمَهُ الله replied that, you are asking me to make dua for this, whereas I am content even if I see the green dome once! So we shouldn’t assume we are worthy of this but we should hope for Allah’s mercy. And it has been said that Allah ﷻ’s mercy is greater on a sinner who regrets and seeks forgiveness from his sin. Shaikh Saadi رَحِمَهُ الله is a very famous poet who was very pious. He often combines Farsi (Persian) and Arabic in his poems. For example he mentions in his Gulistan: (Combining Farsi (Persian) and Arabic) زینهار از قرین بد زنهار وَ قِنا رَبَنا عذابَ النّار O Allah ﷻ save me from a bad woman And O Allah ﷻ save me from the fire of hell. At the beginning of this kitab by Allamah Shah Anwar Kashmiri رَحِمَهُ الله, a poem written by Shaikh Saadi رَحِمَهُ الله is mentioned. بـَلـَغَ الـعُـلا بـِكَمَالِهِ ... كـَشـَفَ الدُّجٰى بِجَمَالِهِ حـَسُـنـَتْ جَمِيْعُ خِصَالِهِ ... صَـلُّـوْا عَـلَـيْهِ وَ آلِهِ He ﷺ attained exaltation by his perfection. He dispelled darkness by his beauty, Beauteous are all his qualities, Salutations be on him and on his family. In the Holy Quran Allah ﷻ says: وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ And indeed, you are of a great moral character. [68:4] The prophet ﷺ had the best of character. May Allah give us tawfiq.
