If you find barakah in copying the actions of the pious, then of course you will find barakah by copying the actions of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
There was once a pious person who performed salah in a Masjid next to his house and for Jumuah salah he would go to the Jame' (main) Masjid. So people used to wait for Friday in order to see him. After a while he would cover his face with a shawl. So people started saying that before they were only able to see him once a week and now they weren't able to do that either. So someone spoke to the pious person about it. He then put the cloth on a person’s head who was close to him. The person became unconscious. After removing the cloth, he regained consciousness, he said when I had the shawl on my head, I could see everyone as dogs and other animals. If this was the effect of this extremely pious person's shawl imagine the effect of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam!
Thaabit radiyallahu anhu relates that Anas radiyallahu anhu showed us a large wooden cup, which was lined with metal, and said, “O’ Thaabit, this is the cup of Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihe wasallam.”
Hadhrat Anas radiyallahu anhu was the Khadim [servant] of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. He received this cup from the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself. It had a lot of barakah in it. If someone would drink from it when ill, they would be cured.
Hadhrat Anas radiyallahu anhu also received a dastarkhan [table cloth] from the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
Etiquettes of a dastarkhan [table cloth]: to pick up food when it has fallen after eating lift up your plate and look for any food that may have fallen.
Anas radiyallahu anhu says, “I gave Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihe wasallam to drink from this cup all those things which are drunk; Nabeedh, milk, honey etc.”
Once Hadhrat Thanwi RA was travelling by train, when it was time to eat they called the people by them to eat with them. One of the people eating dropped a bone with meat on it, so he kicked it further away from the table. Hadhrat Thanwi RA told one of his companions to pick it up and wash it and after this he [Hadhrat Thanwi RA himself] will eat it. After he washed it, the companion asked Hadhrat Thanwi RA's permission to eat it. Permission was granted. Hadhrat Thanwi RA was very particular, he would not accept a mark on his clothes, yet he still never accepted the wastage of food.
This is also why we lick our fingers, to achieve the full barakah. Not because we have a shortage of food, but because of the barakah.
We should also teach young children this
The value and etiquettes of eating is very important.
Once Hadhrat Anas RA was feeding guests, after they finished the servant put the dastarkhan inside the fire-oven. The people assumed that Hadhrat Anas RA probably had many dastarkhan and was not in need of this one. After a while the servant returned to remove the dastarkhan from the fire. The people were amazed. Hadhrat Anas RA told them that the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had once wiped his hands on this dastarkhan after eating, hence it never burnt in the fire.
