Summary of the majlis 26 April 2018 Hadhrat Maulana Adam Sahib Hafizahullah Sayyiduna Umar ra would keep a man by him whose job was just to remind him of death constantly (more than once a day). When his hair started turning white, he said that there was no need for the man to remind him anymore as his hair was reminding him now. Look at how quickly the time is passing right now. A man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “O Messenger of Allaah ﷺ , will there be horses in Paradise?” He said, “If Allaah admits you to Paradise, you will not wish that you could be carried on a horse of red rubies which will fly wherever you want in Paradise, but that will happen.” And then another man asked him, “O Messenger of Allaah ﷺ , will there be camels in Paradise?” but he did not say something like he had said to his companion. He said, “If Allaah admits you to Paradise, you will have therein whatever your heart desires and will delight your eyes.” Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah " and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised. We [angels] were your allies in worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]. As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful." [41:30-33] There are two types of hosts. One that gives his visitors everything but is visibly unhappy. And there is another type that gives everything happily. Allah ﷻ will give and He will want to give to us. He will give to us happily. The life of this world is short. Just try for this short time. Hadhrat Imran bin Hussain was ill for 39 years. He was a sahaba. He had sores all over his body so his family members had to move him every so often on his bed as he couldn’t do so himself. The sahabas and others would come to visit him and ask how he was. He would reply ‘Alhamdulillah ‘ and he was happy. After he recovered, the sahaba would continue to visit him. The sahaba realised a change in him and asked him, ‘it seems as though you were more content and happy when you were ill compared to now. Why is this?’ He then replied saying that when he was ill and would be patient the angels would come to visit him and now that he was recovered, they didn’t come anymore. Illness and health is a blessing from Allah ﷻ. When someone is ill and is patient on this illness he will receive Jannah without questioning. O brother, the world remains with no one. Bind the heart to the Creator, it is enough. Rely not upon possessions and this world. Because it has cherished many like thee and slain them. When the pure soul is about to depart, What does it matter if one dies on a throne or on the ground? [Shaikh Sadi ra] Shaikh faridudeen Attar ra was a great pious buzrug. He wrote the book pand nama. He was very rich and always had servants at hand. There was a pious poor man who would see him daily. And the pious man advised him once to forget his businesses and think of his death. The pious man asked his ‘aren’t you going to die’. Hadhrat Faridudeen Attar ra was so angry. The pious man said, ‘just like I am going to die,you will one day too’. When a man is busy in his riches he is different to when he busy in the work of deen. Then the pious man went out of the shop and covered himself with his cloth and recited the kalima. This man stayed there for a long time until finally Shaikh faridudeen ra went to see him and removed the cloth to see he had passed away. The shaikh was so affected by this, he paid for the funeral and left all of his businesses and riches to everyone around him. He then became so pious that his works then influenced Rumi ra.
