Importance of reciting durood

Summary of the majlis Hadhrat Maulana Adam Sahib Hafizahullah 5 August 2018 Sunday Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbass ra narrates that a bedouin came to the prophet ‎ﷺ and said, “how do I know you are a true prophet?” The prophet ‎ﷺ replied: “if I call this branch of this date tree and ask it to bear witness of this, then will you believe?” Then the prophet ‎ﷺ called this branch and it came down and started coming towards him (like a human, slowly walking) until it reached the prophet ‎ﷺ. Then the prophet ‎ﷺ sent it back and it returned. This is a miracle of the prophet ‎ﷺ. To us it seems that certain things are lifeless, but we have to remember that for Allah ‎ﷻ anything is possible. Everything praises Allah ‎ﷻ but we cant hear it. ‎وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ And there is not a thing except that it exalts [ Allah ] by His praise, but you do not understand their [way of] exalting. [17:44] We should have love for the prophet ‎ﷺ and also ask Allah ‎ﷻ to give us this love. To bring love for the prophet ‎ﷺ we should be reciting at least 100 durood a day. Hadhrat Shaikh Zakariyya ra was an intense lover of the prophet ‎ﷺ. The 40 durood that we recite were compiled by him. These durood were recited in his majalis. The benefits of these durood are great. We should recite it. He passed away in Madina Munawwarah. He would go into the masjid from the Bab Jibreel. He would pray salah near the place of Iqdaam Aaliyah [the blessed feet of the prophet ‎ﷺ]. This place is a very blessed place, many great people have sat there are done muraqabah. Hadhrat Zakariyya ra had such intense love for the prophet ‎ﷺ that he would put his hand inside the chamber of the grave of the prophet ‎ﷺ and get some sand from inside and use it as his surma. The one who has a habit of reciting durood, is very fortunate. We can recite it sitting, sleeping, however is easier for us. ‎الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ Those who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides...
