Summary of majlis 20-03-20
After much discussion and mashwara, we have decided that there will be only 4 or 5 people praying in jama’ah. The azaan will still be called.
The masjid wont be completely closed, but it will be closed to the public.
Hadhrat mentioned that people of old age have seen him come to the masjid and copying him have been coming too. Hadhrat will also pray at home from tomorrow morning. Hadhrat had originally thought that he will come to the masjid despite the outbreak of coronavirus but then he decided that what if someone else is in difficulty due to himself.
The government have been warning us again and again that anyone over 70 years should stay indoors.
They also said that we should not gather. We need to listen.
Don’t think that we wont get reward for praying in congregation. Realise that by having the intention that we wont harm others we will be getting an abundance of reward.
The masjid wont be completely closed i.e. empty, but it will be closed to the public.
This decision has been made after much mashwara and discussion.
This is an unprecedented situation. Someone falls ill in the morning and dies by the evening. We should take care to save ourselves.
Even mufti taqi uthmani has said the same thing
Even in Leicester there has been some cases of coronavirus.
To stop jama’ah at the masjid is so hard but we have to in order to save ourselves and others.
Sometimes we don’t know we have been infected and we have no symptoms.
Allah ﷻ knows we are only stopping the main congregational salah to not cause harm. If we continue to keep it open then we will be questioned.
We should pray with jama’ah at home if possible with just the people at home.
Keep on doing tawbah and istigfar.
Maulana Rumi ra advises that if we are in difficulty we should continuously do tawbah.
