*Summary of Iṣlāḥī Majlis by Shaykhul-Ḥadīth Ḥaḍrat Mawlāna Ādam ibn Yūsuf Ṣāḥib دامت بركاته*

مولاي صل وسلم دائمًا أبدًا
على حبيبك خير الخلق كله
*عن أنس رضي الله عنه عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " يتبع الميت ثلاثة: أهله وماله وعمله؛ فيرجعاثنان ويبقى واحد: يرجع أهله وماله، ويبقى عمله" ((متفق عليه)).*
_Sayyidunā Anas (رضي الله عنه) reported from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that he said, "Three things follow a dead body: members of his family, his possessions and his deeds. Two of them return and one remains with him. His family and his possessions return whilst his deeds remain with him"._

The words of our beloved Prophet ﷺ are concise but if we were to ponder over them, they are enough for us to live our entire life. This hadīth is a reminder to work on rectifying ourselves.
Death is inevitable; as soon as a person dies and is buried, the graveyard starts to empty from visitors. No matter how much an individual loves the world, when a person dies it is only their good deeds that will benefit them in the grave.
Look at how many people have passed away, many of them being so young. There is no age to death. Man will die at the exact appointed time that Allah ﷻ has specified, not a second before or a second after. Allah ﷻ mentions in the noble Qur'ān:
*إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاءَ لا يُؤَخَّرُ*
Indeed Allah’s appointed time (death), when it comes, it will not be delayed.
( _An Nūh 4_ )
Allāma Rūmī رحمه الله gives an analogy of a boat in the sea. As long as the boat is floating on top of the water, it is fine. However, should even a little water enter the boat, then the boat would start to sink. The likeness of the water is the worldly life around us, and the likeness of the boat is ourselves. If the love of worldly goods starts to enter our heart, then this will become a means of destruction for ourselves. May Allah ﷻ protect us. Āmīn.
When the love of the world enters our heart, then it attaches us so much to this material world, that we end up being fearful of leaving the world and meeting our Creator.
Therefore, we must not allow ourselves to be afflicted with the greed and love for wealth, as it is this greed for wealth that makes us careless over that which is permissible and that which is impermissible. We fear death but in reality, we should really be fearing Allah ﷻ . If we fear Allah ﷻ rightfully, then we will be cautious in every action we take in this world.
This world is not an eternal abode. Nobody is able to stay in it for eternity. Hence, there is no purpose in having love for it. Instead, love the Creator of the world. Ask Allah ﷻ to grant us his divine love as follows.
إليك ربي فحببني وفي نفسي لك ربي فذللني وفي أعين الناس فعظمني ومن سيء الأخلاق فجنبني
Once Sayyiditinā Rābiya Basriyya رحمها الله was going somewhere. She saw some people cooking some chicken. She started crying so loudly that people gathered and asked her as to why she was crying. They said, ‘if it is the case that you are hungry, then we will give you some food’. Sayyiditinā Rabiyya Basriyyah رحمها الله said, ‘I do not cry because I am hungry. I cry because at least you people sacrificed the chicken then cooked it, Whereas in the Hell fire the people will enter it whilst still alive’ May Allah ﷻ save us from the Hell fire. Āmīn
Our beloved Prophet ﷺ informed us that whosoever prays the following dua daily with concentration 25 times, they will achieve martyrdom and khatimah bilkhair (a good death).
*اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِي الْمَوْتِ، وَفِيمَا بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ*
Thereafter we should also pray
*فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَنْتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ*
```May Allah ﷻ grant us the ability to practise on everything that has been said. Āmīn```
