Summary of the majlis 4 march 2018 Abdullah ibn Abbas ra said that when surah nasr was revealed, the prophet ﷺ called Hadhrat Fatima ra and made her sit next to him. He then said, he had been given notice of his passing away. They prophet ﷺ’s prophethood was apparent after he was forty years. In the short time from prophethood to before his passing away, he spread the deen in the best way. For others, people could say that if they spent more time in the world they could have finished their job properly. But no one can ever or has ever said this about the prophet ﷺ. Hadhrat mentioned that he has been here [Leicester, England] for approximately 40 years. When he came there were only 2 masajid in Leicester. Today, there are so many masajid in Leicester in every area! The prophet ﷺ would return after salah and his wives would say that there is no food in the house. It has also been reported that he ﷺ only had one pair of clothes that he would wash at night. This wasn’t due to poverty, this was because he had made dua to only grant him the necessities so that there would be less questioning on the day of judgement. But this doesn’t mean we do this. This is teaching us that success in deen or anything is not reliant on money. So many pious people have seen the prophet ﷺ with tears in his eyes due to the state of the ummah right now. Allah ﷻ does not need us. We need Him. If we do not change our own state, He can replace us with another people. “and Allah is the Free of need, while you are the needy. And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be the likes of you. [47:38]” On the day of judgment, the prophet ﷺ will fall into sijdah and he will cry so much that he will get the attention of Allah ﷻ. After a long while, Allah ﷻ will tell him to stop and ask him "سل" “ask from me” and he will ask Allah ﷻ to start the questioning. Even one day that is remaining in the world is very valuable to us.
