*Summary of Durood Majlis by Shaykhul-Ḥadīth Ḥaḍrat Mawlāna Ādam ibn Yūsuf Ṣāḥib دامت بركاته*

يا رب صل وسلم دائمًا أبدًا
على حبيبك خير الخلق كلهم
عن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت: لما أرادوا غسل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قالوا: والله ما ندري أنجرد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم منثيابه كما نجرد موتانا أم نغسله وعليه ثيابه؟ فلما اختلفوا ألقى الله عليهم النوم حتى ما منهم من رجل إلا وذقنه في صدره، ثم كلمهم مكلم منناحية البيت لا يدرون من هو: أن اغسلوا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وعليه ثيابه، فقاموا إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فغسلوه وعليهقميصه، يصبون الماء فوق القميص، ويدلكونه بالقميص دون أيديهم.
A’ishah رضي الله عنها narrated, ‘When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died and they wanted to make Ghusl, they said, ‘By Allah we do not know whether we should remove the clothes of Allah’s Messenger as we do for our dead or not?’
فمبلغُ العلمِ فيهِ أنهُ بشرٌ. وأنهُ خيرُ خلقِ اللهِ كلهمِ
The extent of the knowledge we have of him is that he is a man, And that he is the best of all Allah’s creation.

Usually, when a person passes away, their clothes are removed. They are covered with a thick cloth that covers them. But the situation of Rasullullah ﷺ is different.
It is important that those who give ghusl to the deceased should be learned (in aspects of giving ghusl to the deceased). Some people say they want to give ghusl to the deceased for the reward, but they should follow those who are knowledgeable. They should keep the respect of the person. The deceased should be covered with a thick cloth or two. Their clothes should be removed without exposing their satr. If this isn’t possible then they should cut the clothes open while covering the deceased with a cloth. Most of the time one cloth isn’t enough to cover the deceased.
Sayyiduna Fatima رضي الله عنها, the daughter of Rasullullah ﷺ, had told those who would bathe her to cover her with a big cloth over the other so the shape of her body is not seen. But nowadays some women walk around half uncovered. Understand that death is very close. May Allah give us the tawfiq.
People complain they have hardships, no nur, and difficulties. They should look at their ownselves and try to see how they can better themselves.
The usual thing to do when someone passes away is that one person holds the cloth on one side and the other on the other side so the body is covered. Look at how much Allah ﷻ has taken care of us even when we pass away.
The Sahaba رضي الله عنهم were deciding whether or not to remove the clothes of Rasullullah ﷺ. During this situation, they fell asleep and they heard a voice advising them to keep the clothes of Rasullullah ﷺ on as he is pure. So they gave him a ghusl with his clothes on.
When taking the name of Rasullullah ﷺ, our mouths should water. Just as when we have a sweet or a chocolate, our mouth waters from the sweetness.
Allah ﷻ says in the Quran:
مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ ۖ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ بَاقٍۢ ۗ
What is with you shall perish and what is with Allah shall last.
[16:96]
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ. وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلالِ وَالإكْرَامِ
Every one who is on it (the earth) has to perish. And your Lord’s Countenance will remain, full of majesty, full of honour.
[55:26-27]
There have been many who would come to the majlis who are not here anymore. They have passed away and will not return.
This is why one should do something. Time is passing like the dripping of water. If we do good then we will get peace and tranquility, even if they are in pain or in a tough situation.
The time is passing very fast. It is just as Rasullullah ﷺ foretold: The Hour will not be established until time passes rapidly, such that a year is like a month, a month is like a week, a week is like a day, a day is like an hour, and an hour is like the flicker of a flame.
Do good before your time ends.
