*Summary of Iṣlāḥī Majlis by Shaykhul-Ḥadīth Ḥaḍrat Mawlāna Ādam ibn Yūsuf Ṣāḥib

_Āishah (R.A) narrates the Messenger ﷺ said: "Whoever has been given his portion of compassion has been given his portion of good in the world and the Hereafter. And whoever is denied his portion of compassion has been denied his portion of good in this world and the Hereafter." (Sharḥus Sunnah 6:472)_
Being hot tempered is very detrimental to our soul; in fact a person ends up afflicting his own self. In today’s time, many people are suffering with the spiritual illness of anger. Anger is half of madness. Many individuals get angry for minor reasons which also leads to marriages breaking up. Men and women are equally guilty of this.
*Treatment for Anger*
When a person gets angry, he must try to respond calmly and not react harshly. One has to fight and control the nafs, and only then will this become a habit.
By adopting compassion, a person will encounter contentment, respect and honour in this world. A person who is known for his soft-natured character is appreciated in the eyes of the public, and people long to be in such a person’s company.
*Story*
The noble companion Haḍrat Abū Bakr (رضي الله عنه) had a relative whom he used to support financially. The relative once upset ḥaḍrat Abū Bakr (رضي الله عنه) by relaying rumours against his family. This affected him deeply and he decided to withhold the monthly expenses he would provide for him. Upon this, Allah ﷻ revealed the verses of the Qur’ān:
_"And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to the relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."_ (Nūr, 22)
Upon the revelation of this verse, Haḍrat Abū Bakr (رضي الله عنه) began to shiver and exclaimed, “I have forgiven him!”
From this Āyah, the scholars deduce the ruling that through forgiveness one is blessed by Allah ﷻ with many bounties. One will gain success in the Hereafter, and be blessed with a good ending (death with Ῑmān).
At least once a day, we must make an effort to ask for a good death. Ḥaḍrat recommended praying the following Du’ā':
_“O Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my Protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.”_
_“O Allah make me live as a Muslim and cause me to die as a Muslim.”_
If one cannot remember these Duas, one may ask for a good death in their own words. When in a state of good health, we usually don’t realise the importance of this. We tend to forget about our final moments, which have the largest impact on our future and destiny.
*Demise of one of the Students of Ḥaḍrat*
Ḥaḍrat mentioned one of his students Mawlāna Abdullah ṣaḥib passed away. He previously served Haḍrat at Jāmeah Dhābel where Haḍrat taught him. At the time of his death, he called his family members including his son, who is also an Ālim. He said to his son: “I am reciting these verses, please check if I am reciting them correctly.”
The son replied to his father in the affirmative. The next day, he called his children again and recited the kalimah loudly and thereafter passed away. Verily to Allah ﷻ we belong and to Him we return.
After death, the next stage is the grave, in which we will be asked the three questions: “Who is your Lord?”, “What is your Religion”, and “Who is this man?” (referring to Rasūlullah ﷺ)
After the stage of the grave, will occur the stage of the day of Judgement. The will include the scale of deeds, followed by the Bridge of ṣirāṭ. May Allah ﷻ make it easy for all of us. Amīn.
In conclusion, we must remember that being soft-hearted is a means of earning forgiveness. It will allow us to attain compassion from the angel of death, and also in the grave.
```May Allah ﷻ grant us the ability to practise on everything that has been said. Āmīn```
